たこ焼き Octopus Balls in Osaka

We both liked Osaka, which has a different vibe to Tokyo, the big metropolis that I’m used to. Osaka is more like HK in a sense – a bit chaotic, people are louder (or just Tokyo people are too polite & reserved), lot’s of food, particularly street snacks. One of the famous street snacks in Osaka is Takoyaki, or Octopus balls. It’s essentially savoury pancake dough with cabbage and bits of octopus baked into a ball, but in Osaka, they pride themselves with this hot & delicious street snack! Another Osaka favourite is Okonomiyaki, literally means ‘your favourate bake’ which is more of a pancake version of Takoyaki, with not just Octopus, but pork, prawn, noodles, eggs, or anything you like in them! (oh, they all have cabbage in them, so they’re healthy too!)
